So excited to give Lindsay her gorgeous album today! Her choice of Ash Leather with a cameo cutout of a black and white image of her and Jason in the woods was stunning. Thanks for choosing us for your day Lindsay and Jason!
Dana and Michael had an emotion filled wedding day - from the moment they saw each other during their first look to when they said their vows, the two were beaming with happiness and love. A lovely cocktail hour followed the patio ceremony, with guests lingering around, comfortable in the 90 degree weather. After a few heartfelt and tear inducing toasts, the guests donned their sunglasses and hit the dance floor, celebrating Dana and Michael's beautiful day.
Lindsay and Jason's April 2nd wedding was blessed with a beautiful show from mother nature - snowflakes started falling as the bride was prepping and continued until the trees were blanketed, setting the scene for some gorgeous winter photos! Kudos to Lindsay and Jason for braving the snow and cold! First, the couple said their vows at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church in Flint. From there, we traveled to the reception site at Camp Copneconic in Fenton, with a quick stop to see the bride's beaming and adorable grandmother. The reception was beautiful - linens had been draped to give the camp dining hall a glamorous look and beautiful backdrop for the first dances. The party and killer dance moves continued well into the evening!
I wanted to share a few shots from Sadie's recent winter photo shoot!
Robin and Josh choose one of my favorite locations in the world to get married - the National Park of Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, located in northern Michigan on the coast. It's so beautiful there - the piles of white sand, the blue water and the crisp flora and fauna. It also happened to be where Josh asked Robin to marry him. They had wanted to hold the ceremony overlooking the lake, right at the edge of a large drop off, but mother nature had other plans, choosing instead to blow super strong gusts of wind that October day, making it all but impossible to open your eyes. We trekked a bit farther, over the hill and to a lookout, where the wind wasn't blowing nearly as much and we also had a little balcony to crowd together on to keep warm.
They said their vows in a beautiful intimate Mormon ceremony, their children standing up for each of them. Afterwards, it was followed by a delicious dinner and cake cutting at a nearby restaurant and even later, the entire family ended up celebrating around a bonfire.
You're engaged, planning a wedding ... chances are, you're also thinking about purchasing a home. And it even seems like quite a few of my couples bravely choose to tackle moving around the same time as the wedding!
I'm here to tell you the next step it to call my friend Bonnie Pappas. As a mortgage loan officer, she can advise you on the next steps you need to take to be qualified and ready to purchase, so when you find that perfect home, you'll know it's in your budget and you can feel confident with any offer you choose to make.
Bonnie is friendly and it's worth a phone call - she is so full of knowledge, super responsive, hard working and professional. And did I tell you it's free? Yup, it doesn't cost you anything to give her a call. Definitely check out her app - it's got a great mortgage calculator and tons of other helpful information, and it makes it easy to contact her as soon as you find that dream house!
Besides sharing this great chart below talking about different types of loans, here is what Bonnie has to say.
Aubrey and Steven were married on a chilly winter day in a beautiful Catholic ceremony at Saint John's church in Davison. The bride was beautiful, her gorgeous winter bouquet made by Floral Sense. The entire bridal party took the party bus (seriously, this thing was a purple monster with plenty of room!) to Flint, where everyone braved the cold for photos at the Farmer's market and in the streets. The celebration continued at The Captain's Club at Woodfield, where Aubrey surprised Steven with their wedding cake decorations - a specially frosted Detroit Red Wings emblem. Family and friends danced and laughed into the evening, stepping back only when Black Tie Productions put Michael Jackson and Steven pulled out his amazing dance moves.
Nelson proposed to Bryna on a beautiful cold December day. He chose the University of Michigan's famous Diag - with the Bell Tower in the background. He had it planned ahead of time - under the ruse of early dinner reservations, they would cross The Diag, he would stop at the block M, and ask the question. He was a mixture of excited and nervous.
Bryna was taken off guard - surprised, she hadn't been expecting the question at all. In fact, that very day, she had made a milestone purchase, and thought they were going out to celebrate what had, so far, been a fabulous day of her life.
She said yes, and kept saying yes, as she slowly realized what had happened. She was happy, bubbling up with excitement. And the smile on Nelson's face - and the way he looked at her - the two were so full of love and excited for their future together.
This is an oldie but a goodie. I had the honor of second shooting with the amazing Craig Dilger a few years back out at Camp Skylemar, Maine. Casey and Jess had a gorgeous outdoor wedding at Casey's childhood camp. His family and friends all stayed in the cabins and enjoyed the lake all weekend. Not typically seen at a wedding, one of my favorite parts was the beer-pong tournament the groomsmen had going while the ladies prepped.
